Get Ready for Data Overload: Weds Report releases
by Bruce Webb
via Brad DeLong we learn that CBO is releasing its 2010 Long Term Budget Outlook on Wednesday at 9AM. Which is also the date that the 2010 Social Security Report is (over-)due to be released. Which means some head to head, apples to apples comparisons of economic projections over the 75 year window.
The Long Term Budget Outlook shouldn’t be confused with the more detailed (for my purposes) Long Term Social Security Projection typically put out by CBO in August, but there should still be plenty of material on Social Security and Medicare to discuss. Good times!

Bruce,
As you gear up for the data dump and the resulting plethora of posts. May I humbly suggest again. that you start posts (or end or somewhere) with a note that people need to read your info under Webb’s Social Security tab BEFORE they comment. Something like its assumed you read it before commenting. I know it won’t work totally, but it might reduce the number of absolutely dumb comments.
Also, you need to clearly make sure people understand the difference between SS and the general fund. This point seems to be the greatest spot of confusion for many, they incorrectly lump SS as just another revenue stream into the general fund. If you can get past that you might have a better discussion.
Just a thought…
Islam will change
heh, heh, heh
Why is it we can face the numbers and explain them?
Buff your comment got blocked by the system, I don’t know why, it doesn’t have any of the forbidden terms. Oh well JS-Kit gives and it taketh away.
Bruce,
That is weird. I would check back and I could see the comment fine. But the comment number was listed as ‘0’. I figured it was a glitch. The mysteries of JS_Kit are not for the unholy to understand…or challenge…
🙂
